Just chattin'

Sweet little James likes to talk to himself when no one is looking, or when two people are having a conversation. He's our little gem!

Lucky

Garland and I are in the process of closing on a house. Until then we are staying in a tiny apartment. I mean tiny. Our 1 'studio' room and bathroom are about 1/3 the size of the living room in our last house. Anyway, with us only having one car, I am in our little apt with James all day. As much as I thought I would hate it and go crazy, it has become the opposite. Living here, I have become so grateful for all that I have been blessed with, and not just for 'things' either. My best friend Dana reminded me that writing down what you are grateful for can get you through some of the rough and lonely times. Plus it keeps your mind on not always having what you want, but wanting what you already have.

I am grateful to have such a wonderful and understanding husband who is a worthy Priesthood holder. He is so good to me and James.

I am thankful to have a happy healthy baby who makes me smile every day. And even though I have gone through the hardest time in my life since having James, I'd gladly do it again to make sure he is healthy. I take that for granted sometimes. I have seen some friends have babies who have had health issues. I just can't imagine that. What a helpless feeling.

I am so blessed with such a wonderful family. They are so wonderful to call me and check up on me, especially now that I am so far away from them. I love that they try to keep me involved in everything thats going on.

I'm thankful for technology. It allows me to stay in touch with my friends and family, be it via phone, email, posting pictures on the internet or being able to see them with Skype.

I'm so grateful that Garland has great employment that provides for our family. I am glad that we have health insurance and are able to see a doctor when/if we need to.

I am so grateful to be a member of the only true church on this earth. They have such a wonderful support system, especially for those of us who move around alot. We went to our new ward and were treated as if we were long time dear friends. Its like having another family every time we move. I love it.

I'm grateful to be living in a warm home, especially here. Even if it is smaller than a breadbox. It's warm and we can call it home, for now anyways.

Funny thing, I just realized that Thanksgiving is like a week away. Totally didn't even think of that till now. Well, thats funny :) It's nice to be thankful without really having a reason.

Anyway, just wanted to share that with you all. Be sure to count your many blessings And thank you all for being blessings in my life :)

Together Again!

Horray! We are together again and finally at our permanent duty
station - its been 7+ months in the making!!! We decided to purchase a
house and are in the process of closing. Hopefully we will be in our
house just after Thanksgiving and all settled in by Christmas. How
blessed we are! Until then we are staying in a short-term apartment,
which makes us so antsy to get in our house and get our stuff thats
been in storage since April.
Garland is doing very well - he is starting his job tomorrow so we
will see how things go. James and I are also doing well. James is such
a wonderful happy baby and we feel so blessed to have him in our
lives. He is growing so big and is just starting to laugh, but the
only time he will is when we pull his arms out of his sleeves when we
change him. Its so funny! Ill attach a video - he didnt do it very
much in the video but its a little taste. He is also getting his first
tooth :) He has been so good through it - I've heard a lot of babies
get pretty fussy when their teeth are coming in but he has been just
wonderful, so far anyway.
We went to the library yesterday and discovered James' favorite thing:
reading! We picked up a few books with big pictures and we have been
reading to him. He gets totally quiet and is fascinated by the
pictures. It is a sight to see :)
Well, we are happy and healthy and cant wait for the journey ahead.

It's Official!!

James and I are gonna see Garland!! We leave friday night! I so cant wait to get there and see him!
Im gonna miss Utah alot. The beautiful landscapes, the great fast food & restaurants, the wonderful people, and most especially my friends and family. I dont know the next time I'll be back here in Utah which makes me sad, but I'm excited for the journey ahead.

P.S. We'll update our blog as soon as we get a place to live and settle in a bit :)
